1. Little Chief’s Club, Shangri-La's Fijian Resort & Spa
Any fun-loving child over 4 will be chomping at the bit until the doors open at 9am. It’s right near the main pool, so parents can relax knowing their children are safe and within walking distance. Your kids will happily play between the pool and beach with set activities and co-ordinators until 5pm. There’s even a complimentary buffet to keep the bullies full if they eat with at least 1 paying adult. Children under 4 can join the club with a parent or babysitter.
2. Castaway Island Kids Club, Castaway Island Fiji
You can be rest assured when you drop the kids off at the Castaway Club, they’ll be entertained with endless adventures, games and feel the warmth of the Fijian caretakers. From collecting seashells and frangipanis to arts and crafts, your children will happily spend all day every day here, if you let them. The hours, from 9 to 4pm and then again from 5.30 to 10.30pm provide flexibility, and they even take angelic 3-year old’s!
3. VOMO Kids Village, Vomo Island Fiji
With a dedicated chef and private butlers, your children will be spoilt in the lap of luxury! Entry is via a suspension bridge, and the village includes a cubby house, media room, climbing frames, dress ups, craft tables and much more! For the older kids (above 10) there’s even a tailor-made diving course. The club encourages children to have breakfast with their family but join other kids for a sunset dinner, giving you plenty of time to enjoy those sunset cocktails! Under 4’s must have a parent or babysitter join them, babysitters can be booked at the hotel.
4. Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort, Kids Club
The Outrigger is renowned for its range of water sports and activities, and for kids it’s no different. Little Riggers runs an action packed daily itinerary for 3 to 7-year old’s, including traditional Fijian games, crafts and water games. For 8 to 12-year old’s there’s a Beach Riggers program, and for teenagers who dare to leave their devices, there are activities like spear making, sand dune adventures and hikes to local forts. All clubs are free and open from 9am with activities ending at 9pm.
5. Ika Kids Club, Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa
Ika, the Five Star free kids club is a drawcard for many family holiday makers, especially those with children under 3 who love the creche run by qualified caregivers. Aside from the huge range of activities for kids of all ages, they can also enjoy spa treatments and movies to help them unwind after a big day of fun! The kids’ menu offers gluten free and vegetarian options and even baby meals. From 2014 to 2016, this resort has been voted as the Best Family Resort on Denarau by Holidays with Kids.
While most kids’ clubs are complimentary it’s always a good idea to check if the extra costs, like private babysitters. To save you lugging baby equipment half way around the world check with the hotel to see if they provide cots and highchairs.
